3dm Making Disciples – taster day

Saturday 17th February Brooklands Church is hosting a "taster day" for the 3dm Making Disciples programme.  This started as an Anglican thing in UK but has morphed into a cross-denominational international movement.  Its basic idea is that we should make disciples the same way Jesus did- in a small intensive group for 2-3 years.  All are welcome and other churches are welcome!.

The beautiful and mellow sounds of 8 cellos tickling and delighting the ears from all directions, this is Cellophonics. After 15 years entertaining and touring around New Zealand, this exciting group of leading NZ musicians comes to you to enrich and demonstrate a totally passionate expression to a wide range of music from the Baroque to Piazzolla and beyond. Come and be transported! For 30 years James Tennant has been training up New Zealand’s leading cellists and created many cello ensembles from the Belli Celli and ACE, to for the past 15 years Cellophonics. Members of past Cellophonics have gone on to become international stars of the concert stage after they completed their studies at the University of Waikato such as Santiago Canon Valencia and Edward King, and there are potential stars of the future within this current group of very talented students. Ever changing, ever evolving, cellophonics continues to inspire composers to create works for the group that enlargen a growing popularity with audiences around the world for exciting and inspiring cello ensembles. We hope you will come and witness for yourselves the absolute delight and passionate performing of a wonderful group of totally committed and inspirational artists. Variety Concert

To be held in the hall on Saturday 17th November starting at 2pm.  This is a celebration of our hidden talents so do come along and have a wonderful afternoon.  Afternoon tea will follow.  This is a fund raising event for the refurbishment of the hall kitchen.  Children are free, Adults $10.00 each

Wynne and Paul will be presenting a Worship Concert on Saturday 24th November starting at 4 pm.  The music presented will be a variety of songs mostly from the last forty years but with some new ones and one or two older ones.
